Abstract	Vodeni ekosustavi se smatraju najugroženijim tipom ekosustava. To utječe na brojne organizmevezane uz njih, ali i na čovjeka koji ovisi o vodnim resursima. Kako bi se moglo kontrolirati i pratiti stanje slatkih voda potrebno je razviti sustave praćenja te metodologiju kojombi se mogloutvrditi trenutno stanje. Biološke metode su neke od metoda koje se koriste u tu svrhu. Vretencasvojim životnim ciklusom objedinjuju kopnena i vodena staništa te su vrlo osjetljivi na promjeneu okolišu. Trenutno se koriste kao pokazatelji u kombinaciji s drugim biološkimmetodama, nouzdodatna istraživanja vretenca bi nam mogla pružiti i više informacija o ekološkomstanjuslatkihvoda nego što je to danas.
Abstract (english)	Freshwater ecosystems are the most endangered ecosystems today. This affects not onlynumerous organisms that depend on them, but also humans, as we rely on water resources. Inorder to control and monitor freshwater, we need methodologies to determine its current statusand develop monitoring systems. One of the methods used for this purpose are biological methods. The insect order Odonata combines terrestrial and aquatic habitats in its life cycle andisvery sensitive to environmental changes. Currently, they are used in combination withotherbiological methods as bioindicators, but with more research, they could provide us withevenmore information about the ecological status of freshwater than we have today
