Abstract
Tema rada je razvoj centralnih funkcija Sesveta u gradskoj aglomeraciji kroz povijesni, a u istraživanju teme primijenjena su dva metodološka koncepta-geografski i povijesni. Kroz rad se analiziraju prirodno–geografska obilježja prostora Sesveta kako bismo što lakše objasnili razloge naseljavanja i razvoja naseljenosti kroz povijesni aspekt. Upravo je porast broja stanovnika doveo do transformacije naselja Sesvete i razvoja centralnih funkcija. Kroz historijskogeografski razvoj prikazan je razvoj centralnih funkcija Sesveta od najranijeg traga naseljenosti, tj. prapovijesti i antike kroz razdoblje srednjeg vijeka pa sve do suvremenog doba. Završni dio rada razmatra budući razvoj i mogućnosti za urbanom transformacijom užeg središta Sesveta, obzirom na pozitivne demografske pokazatelje.
Abstract (english)
The topic of the paper is the development of central functions of Sesvete in urban agglomeration through the historical aspect, and in the research of the subject two methodological concepts have been applied- geographic and historical. The work analyzes the natural – geographical features of Sesvete area, in order to explain the reasons for settling this area and population trends through the historical aspect as easily as possible. It was the increase in the number of inhabitants that led to the transformation of the settlement Sesvete and the development of central functions. Through historical and geographical development, the development of central functions of Sesvete has been presented from its earliest traces of settlement, ie. From pre history and antiquity, through the period ofthe Middle Ages to the present day. The final part of the paper deals with the consideration of the forecasts for future development and possibilities for urban transformation of the narrow center of Sesvete with regard to positive demographic indicators.
