Abstract
Osobe s intelektualnim teškoćama od davnina društvo marginalizira – zatvara ih se u zasebne ustanove, oduzimaju im se ljudska prava i slobode, tereti ih se da općenito obezvrjeđuju društvo. Promjenama shvaćanja invaliditeta mijenjale su se i socijalne politike prema osobama s invaliditetom, što se odražavalo u institucionalnoj skrbi osoba s intelektualnim teškoćama. Domovi za osobe s intelektualnim, tjelesnim i osjetilnim oštećenjima institucije su koje osobama s intelektualnim teškoćama uz mogućnost stambenog zbrinjavanja, pružaju i brojne rehabilitacijske usluge, za koje se tijekom povijesti, i ne vidi neki preveliki napredak. Na kraju rada, u skladu s suvremenim trendom deinstitucionalizacije, prikazat će se „promijenjena“ uloga domova.
Abstract (english)
People with intellectual disabilities have always been marginalized – they were closed in special institutions, they were deprived of human rights and freedoms, they were burdened by the fact that they generally degrade their society. Changes in the concept of disability have also changed social policies towards people with disabilities which reflected in the institutional care of persons with intellectual disabilities. Institutions for people with intellectual, physical, and sensory impairments are institutions that, with the possibility of housing, offer numerous rehabilitation services to people with intellectual disabilities and they have not made too much progress throughout history. At the end of this thesis, the "changed" role of institutions will be displayed, according to the contemporary trend of deinstitutionalization.
