Abstract
Izmjenjivači topline su procesni uređaji pomoću kojih se toplina prenosi sa toplijeg fluida na hladniji kroz čvrstu stjenku, bez kondenzacije i isparavanja fluida. Pločasti izmjenjivači topline sastavljeni su od niza reljefnih ploča pričvršćenih u okvir. Ploče su najčešće izrađene od nehrđajućeg čelika, a upotrebljeni materijal mora biti kompatibilan sa procesnim medijem. Nabori na pločama osiguravaju optimalni prijenos topline. Razmak između susjednih ploča tvori protočne kanale u koje fluid ulazi i zatim izlazi kroz otvore na rubovima ploča. Brtve oko rubova ploča i oko otvora stvaraju barijeru između kanala te sprječavaju miješanje fluida i njihovo istjecanje u okolinu. Pločasti izmjenjivači topline imaju široku primjenu zbog svojih prednosti pred ostalim izmjenjivačima, kao što su: bolji prijenos topline, mogućnost različitih izvedbi te kraće vrijeme servisiranja. Posebno je zanimljiva primjena u prehrambenoj industriji, gdje su pogodni jer omogućuju održavanje visokog stupnja sanitacije te procesiranje visokoviskoznih fluida i fluida kod kojih je moguće taloženje.
Abstract (english)
Heat exchangers are process equipment for transferring heat between hot and cold streams through a solid wall, without condensation and evaporation of fluid. Plate heat exchangers are consisted of a pack of corrugated plates on a frame. Plates are usually made of stainless steel, and the used material needs to be compatible with the process media. Plate corrugations ensure optimal heat transfer. The spacing between adjacent plates forms the flow channels in which fluid enters and then exits through channels at the corners. Gaskets around the edges of the plate and around the hole, creating a barrier between the channels, prevent the fluid mixing and their leaking into the environment. Plate heat exchangers are widely used because of its advantages over other heat exchangers, such as greater heat transfer capacity, possibility of different performance and shorter service time. It is especially interesting their application in the food industry. The accessibility of the heat exchange surface for cleaning makes them particularly suitable for fouling services, highly viscous fluids processing and wehere a high degree of sanitation is required.
