Abstract
Predmet istraživanja ovog diplomskog rada su vodotočni sedimenti i stijene na području desnog pritoka potoka Kraljevec, na Medvednici. Ciljevi rada su ispitati mineraloške i petrografske karakteristike vodotočnog sedimenta i stijena desnog pritoka potoka Kraljevec. Mineraloške karakteristike su utvrđene pomoću granulometrijske analize,separacije teškim tekućinama i rendgenske difrakcijske analize na prahu. Geokemijske karakteristike vodotočnog sedimenta su određene metodom kapaciteta kationske zamjene (CEC) i metodom zlatotopke. Petrografski sastav na uzorcima stijena je određen mikropetrografskom analizom. Granulometrija čestica zrna je pokazala da je vodotočni sediment većim dijelom istraživanog potoka pjeskovito-prahoviti šljunak, dok u manjem dijelu, točnije oko njegovog ušća, prevladava šljunkovito-prahoviti pijesak. Istraživani potok leži na ortometamorfnoj stijeni (zeleni škriljavac) ispod koje se nalaze parametamorfiti, odnosno mramor i kvarcit.
Abstract (english)
Abstract: The subject of this master's thesis are stream sediments and the rocks of the right tributary of the Kraljevec creek (located on Medvednica mountain). The objectives of thesis' research is to determine mineralogical and petrographic characteristics of the stream sediment and the rocks of the right tributary of the Kraljevec creek.Mineralogical characteristicswas determinedusinggranulometricanalysis, heavy liquid separation of mineral grains and X-ray diffraction (XRD).Geochemical characteristics was determined using cation exchange capacity (CEC) and aqua regia (nitric acid hydrochloride) methods. Petrographic characteristics of the rocks was determinated by micro-petrographic analysis. Granulometric analysis results interpetation has shown that most of the stream sediments of the right tributary of the Kraljevec creek contains sand-silty gravel, whilst in lower part of the researched creek gravel-silty sand prevails. The basement of the researched creek contains ortho metamorphic rock, precisely green schist, as a cover to para metamorphic rocks, precisely marble and quartzite.
