Abstract
Šume bukve i jele pokrivaju približno 157.000 ha kopnene površine Republike Hrvatske. U ovim šumama provodi se preborni način gospodarenja koji se temelji na obnovi šumske sastojine sječom pojedinačno ili grupno raspoređenih zrelih stabala. Posljednjih nekoliko desetljeća sve je izraženiji problem visokog broja stabala velikog promjera i nedostatka prirodne obnove u bukovo – jelovim šumama. Iz tog razloga se danas češće koriste simulatori razvoja šumskih sastojina u svrhu određivanja optimalnog načina gospodarenja tim šumama. U ovom radu provedeno je simuliranje razvoja strukture bukovo – jelove sastojine pomoću MOSES 3.0 simulatora. Istraživana ploha nalazi se u Gorskom kotaru na području gospodarske jedinice Delnice, odsjek Sovića Laz, a prilikom simulacije korišten je scenarij koji se temelji naudjelu velikih stabala dbh> 70 cm i trenutnom periodičnom (desetogodišnjem) prirastu volumena. Prema dobivenim projekcijama zaključeno je da se niti nakon 110 godina u istraživanoj sastojini ne bi uspostavio dovoljan udio manjih stabala jele da se ona na tom području značajnije razvije.
