The significiance of gymnastics in preschool children education lies primarily in adequate acquisition of basic movement structures. Such movement structures are stored in the motor bases in form of motor foundations, which are inevitable for more coordinated and more physically confident movement in children’s everyday life. Gymnastics in compliance with basic goals of physical education and aim-oriented physical education will result in increased quality of healthy growth and development of preschool children. The key role of physical activity in preschool children is to enable children to exercise autonomously, in order to increase their quality of life and to effectively modify chracteristics and development capacities in children. In this way, health promotion as essential factor in all children’s activities is immediately provided. By respecting characteristics of child growth and development, children’s interest and desire to exercise is aroused. This is why the role of the preschool teacher and kinesiologist is very important when exercising with preschool children. In view of the foregoing, the objective of this article is to explain how gymnastics can promote functioning of the entire organism, which results in immediate increase of children’s quality of life.
