Abstract
Svoju baroknu raskoš Varaždin njeguje i s ponosom pokazuje osobito kroz Varaždinske barokne večeri. Već više od 40 godina, početkom jeseni, povijesne koncertne prostore Varaždina ispunjavaju zvuci barokne glazbe, gdje su najviše zastupljeni skladatelji Johann Sebastian Bach, George Friedrich Handl, Antonio Vivaldi, Henry Purcell te Domenico Scarlatti i ostali glazbeni majstori. Tijekom proteklih desetljeća festival je ugostio niz uglednih solista, ansambala, opernih pjevača i pjevačica, zborova i ostalih izvođača barokne glazbe. Uz glazbeni program održava se i niz popratnih događanja koja obilježavaju i kulturološku misiju festivala. Svake godine festival ima i zemlju partnera, a 2018. je to Japan, čiji će izvođači ponuditi najbolje od barokne glazbe na japanski način.
Abstract (english)
Varaždin cherishes and proudly present its baroque splendour through the Varaždin Baroque Events. More than 40 years now, at the beginning of autumn the sounds of baroque music by Johann Sebastian Bach, George Friedrich Handl, Antonio Vivaldi, Henry Purcell, Domenico Scarletti and many other masters spread across Varaždin's historical concert halls. Over the past decades, the festival has hosted a number of reputable baroque music soloists, ensembles, opera singers, choirs and others baroque music performers. The music programme is accompanied by a series of events, which complete the cultural mission of this festival. Each year, this festival has a partner country and this year this is Japan whose performers will present the best of baroque in a Japanese style.
