Abstract	Ovaj rad opisuje način pripreme smjese rasplinjačem i upuštanja u cilindre. Također, obuhvaćen je sustav direktnog ubrizgavanja koji ima mnoge prednosti, a najveći su štednja goriva i smanjenje štetnih plinova u ispuhu. Veliki napredak i samu primjenu u brodskoj indstrjii su doživjeli motori na dvojno gorivo. Jedan od najvećih proizvođača tih motora je Wartsila. Njihovi motori koji rade u plinskom režimu po Ottovom ciklusu su zanimljivi zbog niskog kompresijskog omjera sa velikim stupnjom sigurnosti.
Abstract (english)	This paper describes the method of preparing mixture using carburettor and it’s admission into the cylinders. It also describes direct injection system, which has many advantages, the biggest being it’s fuel economy and the reduction of harmful gases in the exhaust. Significant improvement and actual application in marine engineering is seen in dual-fuel engines. One of the biggest manufacturers of mentioned engines is Wartsila. Their engines operate in the gas mode as per Otto cycle, and what makes them interesting is low compression ratio with a high degree of safety.
