Abstract	Naviku bavljenja tjelesnom aktivnošću potrebno je razvijati od najranije dobi. Stvaranjem pozitivnih stavova o tjelesnom vježbanju osiguravamo djeci da žive zdraviji i kvalitetniji život. Nastava tjelesne i zdravstvene kulture (TZK) omogućuje učenicima razvoj motoričkih sposobnosti i usvajanje motoričkih znanja te razumijevanje važnosti bavljenja nekom tjelesnom aktivnošću. Ispitivanjem stavova učenika dobivamo povratne informacije koje se mogu koristiti u svrhu unapređenja nastave te u svrhu boljeg razumijevanja potreba učenika. Cilj ovoga diplomskog rada bio je utvrditi stavove učenika osnovnih škola o predmetu tjelesne i zdravstvene kulture, te razlike u stavovima s obzirom na dob (4. i 8. razred) i s obzirom na spol (učenici i učenice). Sekundarni cilj bio je utvrditi razlike s obzirom na dob i spol u pojedinim varijablama samopoimanja koje su bitne za predmet tjelesne i zdravstvene kulture. Istraživanje je provedeno u četiri osnovne škole na području grada Zadra. U istraživanju su sudjelovala 292 učenika, polaznici četvrtih i osmih razreda osnovne škole. Za potrebe istraživanja kreiran je anketni upitnik. Rezultati istraživanja su pokazali kako učenici imaju pozitivne stavove prema predmetu tjelesne i zdravstvene kulture, te ga smatraju zanimljivim, razumljivim i korisnim. Predmet tjelesne i zdravstvene kulture ne smatraju teškim i većini učenika je omiljen predmet. Nadalje, rezultati istraživanja ukazuju postojanje razlika s obzirom na dob i s obzirom na spol učenika. Učenici imaju pozitivnije stavove prema nastavi tjelesne i zdravstvene kulture u odnosu na učenice, dok učenici četvrtih razreda imaju pozitivnije stavove u donosu na učenike osmih razreda. Također, utvrđeno je da postoje razlike u pojedinim dimenzijama samopoimanja učenika s obzirom na dob i razlike u pojedinim dimenzijama samopoimanja učenika s obzirom na spol.
Abstract (english)	The habit of practicing physical activity should be developed from an early age. By creating positive attitudes toward physical exercise we can provide children to live healthier and better life. Physical education (PE) enables students to develop their motor skills and abilities as well as to understand the importance of practicing physical activities. Examining students´ attitudes will give us feedback which can be used to improve teaching and to better understand students´ needs. The aim of this diploma thesis was to determine the attitudes of primary school students toward the subject of physical and health education and to examine age and gender differences. The secondary aim was to determine age and gender differences in individual variables of self-concept that are essential for the subject of physical and health education. The study was conducted in four primary schools in the city of Zadar. The study involved a total of 292 fourth and eighth grade students. For the purpose of this study an anonymous questionnaire was created. The results showed that students have positive attitudes towards the subject of physical and health education, and consider it interesting, understandable and useful. Furthermore, the subject of physical education is not considered difficult and it is favorite subject to majority of students. Our findings also showed that there are age and gender differences in students´ attitudes toward the subject of physical education. Male students have more positive attitudes toward the physical education than female students and fourth-grade students have more positive attitudes than eighth grade students. The results also showed that there are differences in the individual dimensions of the students selfconcept in terms of age and gender differences.
