Abstract Limfomi su maligne neoplazme limfatičnog sustava. Uzrok limfoma do sada nije u potpunosti razjašnjen.
Abstract (english) Lymphomas are malignant neoplasms of lymphatic sytem. They occur when healthy lymphocites are undergoing a rapid change and growth in cells, resulting increased and painless lymph nodes throughout the body. There are two main types of lymphomas: Non- Hodgkin's lymphoma and Hodgkin's lymphoma. Hodgkin's lymphoma most frequently occur in young adults, usually between 15 to 30 years old, and also above the age of 65. It's also more present in males, rather than females. The annual incidence of lymphoma's is 14 per 100,000 population. Hodgkin's lymphoma has much better prognosis than Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The cause of lymphoma has not been fully discovered. Etiological factors that increase the risk of disease are: epidemic of acquired immunodeficiency virus (AIDS), immunosuppressive therapy, hereditary immunodeficiency, rheumatoid arthritis, and environmental factors such as air pollution, pesticides and genetic predisposition. The gold standard for the diagnosis of lymphoma is the pathohistological treatment of the extruded lymph node. Treatment of lymphoma is carried out in accordance with the histological findings, the stage of the disease, as well as the general condition of the patient. The nurse is important member of the medical team when caring for an oncology patient at all stages of care. She recognizes symptoms such as: pain, infection, emesis, mucosal damage. Aaccording to those symptoms performs nursing interventions. She also participates in the preparation of cytostatics medicine, which can cause unwanted side effects (nausea, diarrhea, alopecia, stomatitis), she then recognizes and removes them in a timely manner.
