Abstract
Brojne su varijable koje mogu utjecati na rezultate pokusa u smislu njihove vjerodostojnosti kao i ponovljivosti pokusa. Hranidba i držanje često su izvor takvih varijabli. Životinje, udaljene od svog prirodnog okoliša, smještene u kaveze, nisu u mogućnosti same zadovoljiti svoje fiziološke i etološke potrebe. Međutim, kako bi se one na zadovoljavajući način osigurale, potrebno je pri planiranju pokusa podrobno poznavati osobitosti vrste i soja glodavca namijenjenog korištenju u pokusima. Često čak i uobičajeni načini hranjenja, napajanja i držanja životinja mogu dovesti do pojave određenih varijabli koje će posredno utjecati na rezultate pokusa. Brojne su varijable koje mogu utjecati na rezultate pokusa u smislu njihove vjerodostojnosti kao i ponovljivosti pokusa. Hranidba i držanje često su izvor takvih varijabli. Životinje, udaljene od svog prirodnog okoliša, smještene u kaveze, nisu u mogućnosti same zadovoljiti svoje fiziološke i etološke potrebe. Međutim, kako bi se one na zadovoljavajući način osigurale, potrebno je pri planiranju pokusa podrobno poznavati osobitosti vrste i soja glodavca namijenjenog korištenju u pokusima. Često čak i uobičajeni načini hranjenja, napajanja i držanja životinja mogu dovesti do pojave određenih varijabli koje će posredno utjecati na rezultate pokusa.
Abstract (english)
There are many factors that can influence the outcome of an experiment, specifically its credibility and the ability to get the same results upon repetition. Diet and housing are often the source of those variables. Animals, distanced from their natural habitat and caged, are not able to satisfy their physiological and ethological needs. In order to let the animals address their needs, it's necessary to recognise peculiarities of the particular rodent species and strain intended for experiment use when preparing for the experiment. However, even the most common ways of animal feeding and husbandry can lead to certain factors arising which can then alter experimental results.
