Abstract
Redovita tjelesna aktivnost pozitivno doprinosi fiziološkom i psihološkom zdravlju. Vježbanje se preporučuje starijim osobama jer povećava mišićnu masu i smanjuje rizik za kronične bolesti srca i metaboličkih sustava, bolje funkcioniraju fizički i psihički. Mnoga istraživanja su dokazala da redovito bavljenje nekom tjelesnom aktivnošću dovodi do boljeg raspoloženja i većeg samopouzdanja. Motivacija je ključni čimbenik u podržavanju kontinuiranog vježbanja. Kako bi pojedinac bio motiviran za neku aktivnost, u njegovoj motivacijskoj strukturi trebali bi prevladavati intrinzični razlozi. Glavni cilj rada bio je vidjeti koje su sličnosti i razlike u motivaciji za vježbanje kod 70 mlađih ispitanika i 70 starijih ispitanika. Upitnik koji je korišten u istraživanju kako bi se utvrdili glavni motivacijski čimbenici je hrvatska verzija EMI – 2 Upitnik motivacije za vježbanje. Rezultati ovog istraživanja pokazali su da su glavni čimbenici motivacije kod mlađe muške populacije vezani za natjecateljski duh te da ih se većina bavi vježbanjem kako bi imali određeni status u društvu i veće samopouzdanje. Starija populacija uglavnom vježba kako bi izbjegla mnogobrojne bolesti, ali i da bi imali veću snagu i izdržljivost koje su im prijeko potrebne kako bi mogli normalno funkcionirati u svakodnevnom životu.
Abstract (english)
Regular physical activity positively contributes to physiological and psychological health. Exercise is recommended for the elderly because it increases muscle mass and reduces the risk of chronic heart and metabolic disorders, it improves their mental and physical state. Many studies have shown that regular exercise leads to a better mood and greater self-confidence. Motivation is a key factor in sustaining continuous exercise. To motivate an individual for an activity, intrinsic reasons should be overcome in his motivational structure. The main aim of this study was to see what the similarities and differences in motivation for exercise were in 70 male respondents and 70 older respondents. The questionnaire used in the research to determine the main motivational factors is the Croatian version of EMI - 2 Training motivation questionnaire. The results of this study have shown that the main factors of motivation in the younger male population are related to the competitive spirit, and that most are concerned with exercising in order to have a certain status in society and greater self-confidence. The older population is mostly an exercise in order to avoid many diseases, but also to have the greater strength and endurance they need so that they can function normally in everyday life.
