Abstract
Od davnina uzimanje hrane nije samo ispunjavanje fizioloških potreba već i obilježje razvoja kulture i društvenog statusa. Pravilna prehrana i adekvatna apsorpcija nutritivnih sastojaka iz crijeva su preduvjet održavanja tjelesne ravnoteže, odnosno homeostaze svih energetskih i metaboličkih procesa. Pretilost je sve veći problem današnjeg života. Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija pretilost definira kao bolest u kojoj se višak masnog tkiva nakuplja u tolikoj mjeri da ugrožava zdravlje, te je označena kao globalna epidemija koja se može prevenirati. Razvija se pod utjecajem genetski i metaboličkih faktora, okoliša, socijalne sredine i loših životnih navika. Prvi korak u savjetovanju bolesnika o prehrani je uzimanje sveobuhvatne nutritivne anamneze kako bismo utvrdili nutritivni status i prehrambene navike bolesnika. Nutritivna potpora je važan i nezaobilazan čimbenik u liječenju pretilih osoba.
Abstract (english)
Since ancient times, food has not only been a fulfillment of physiological needs, but also a hallmark of the development of culture and social status. Proper nutrition and adequate absorption of nutrients from the gut are a prerequisite for maintaining body balance, that is, homeostasis of all energy and metabolic processes. Obesity is a growing problem in today's world. The World Health Organization defines obesity as a disease in which excess adipose tissue accumulates to such an extent that it threatens health and is designated as a preventable global epidemic. It develops under the influence of genetic and metabolic factors, environment, social environment and poor living habits. First step in counseling patients about nutrition is to take a comprehensive nutritional history to determine the nutritional status of the patient's eating habits. Nutritional support is an important and indispensable factor in the treatment of obese people.
