Abstract
Masaža se od davnina koristi kao oblik liječenja raznih bolnih stanja ili opuštanja. Postoji više vrsta masaža, a njeni korisnici rado se odlučuju za neku od tih vrsta kako bi osjetili pozitivne učinke masaže koji su apsolutno individualni. Nema puno znanstvenih dokaza o učincima masaže, ali dokazani su pozitivni ishodi liječenja, kombiniranjem masaže i ostalim metoda fizikalne terapije. Cilj je ovoga rada je spoznati sociodemografske karakteristike korisnika masaže na području Grada Vukovara te saznati neke razloge zbog kojih korisnici odlaze na masažu. Istraživanje je provedeno na području četiri gradske četvrti Grada Vukovara te je anketirano 114 osoba. Rezultati nisu potvrdili hipotezu kako na masažu više odlaze muškarci. Rezultati ovog istraživanja pokazuju da je 55% ispitanika korisnika masaže bilo ženskog spola. Potvrđene su hipoteze da na masažu odlazi radna populacija zbog bolova i zdravstvenih problema uzrokovanih sjedilačkim načinom života. Zbog takvih razloga oni se više odlučuju na odlazak na masažu kod stručne osobe odnosno fizioterapeutu.
Abstract (english)
Since ancient times massage has been used as means of both cure and relaxation. Having the opportunity to choose between multiple types of massage, its users often willingly decide upon the type in order to individually experience their benefits. Although there is not a lot of scientific evidence about the health benefits of massage itself, there is proof that combining massage with other methods of physical therapy has positive effect on the final outcome of healing treatments. The purpose of this paper is to examine sociodemographic characteristics of massage users in the area of the town of Vukovar and to determine the reasons for going to massages. This research was conducted in four town districts questioning 114 individuals in total. The results did not confirm the hypothesis that men have massages more often than women. On the contrary, the results showed that 55% of questioned individuals who had massageswere women. The hypothesis that the working class has massages due to pain and other health problems caused by long sitting hours has been confirmed. In addition, the working class prefers massages performed by professional physiotherapists.
