Abstract
Karpalni kanal ili karpalni tunel (canalis carpi) je koštano vezivni kanal koji je smješten na prednjoj strani korijena šake. Sindrom karpalnog tunela je prvi put opisao Piaget 1854. godine i od tada je zabilježen u medicinskoj literaturi. Od tada pa do danas ostaje kao jedan od najčešćih razloga onesposobljenosti. Klinička slika počinje s pacijentovim subjektivnim tegobama. Najčešći simptomi su bol i parestezije u obliku trnaca koje se mogu širiti iz ručnog zgloba u dlan i prste ili isijavati u lakat i rame. U potvrđivanju dijagnoze sindroma karpalnog tunela uz specifične testove koriste se i elektromioneurgrafija, ultrazvuk i magnetna rezonanca. Fizioterapijske intervencije imaju za cilj smanjenje boli, te ponovni povrat funkcije. Fizioterapeuti imaju i ulogu edukacije pacijenata vezano uz prevenciju sindroma karpalnog tunela.
Abstract (english)
The carpal canal or carpal tunnel (canalis carpi) is the bone binder channel located on the front of the root of the fist. Carpal tunnel syndrome first described by Piaget in 1854. Since it has been recorded in medical literature it remains as one of the most common reasons for disability. The clinical picture starts with the patient's subjective problems. The most common symptoms are pain and paresthesia in the shape of truncations that can spread from the wrist to the palms and fingers or sway to the shoulder of the elbow. Specific tests are applied to confirm the diagnosis. Along with electromyography, ultrasound and magnetic resonance. Physiotherapeutic interventions aim to achieve the maximum level of functioning in the activities of everyday life. Physiotherapists also have the role of patient training in the prevention of carpal tunnel syndrome.
