Abstract	Osnovna svrha promocije je stvaranje pozitivnog stava o proizvodima ili uslugama koji vodi ka njihovom favoriziranju u procesu kupovine na tržištu, odnosno željenom tržišnom pozicioniranju, kako proizvoda, tako i firme. Ona je kontinuiran proces komuniciranja poduzeća sa kupcima, kako postojećim, tako i onim potencijalnim. Konkurentnost je sposobnost zemlje da u slobodnim i ravnopravnim tržišnim uvjetima proizvede robe i usluge koje prolaze test međunarodnog tržišta, uz istovremeno zadržavanje i dugoročno povećanje realnog dohotka stanovništva. Postavlja se pitanje postoji li mogućnost da se uz pomoć promocije poveća konkurentnost neke zemlje.
Abstract (english)	Basic aim of promotion is to establish positive attitude about products and services that leads toward their preference in the buying process on the market, together with the desired market positioning of both company and its products. It's an ongoing process of communication between the company on one side and existing and potential customers on the other side. The competitiveness is, in a free and equal market conditions, ability of a country to produce goods and services which pass the test of international markets while simultaneously maintaining and expanding the real incomes of its people. The question is whether there’s a possibility to increase the competitiveness of a country with the aid of promotion.
