Abstract	Rad predstavlja razvoj mikroprocesora kroz povijest. Kronološkim redoslijedom se navode mikroprocesori koji su se istaknuli u određenom desetljeću ili generaciji kojoj pripadaju. Generacije obuhvaćaju mikroprocesore čije preformanse dostižu određene okvire. Svaka generacija je tehnološki naprednija, konstrukcijski, arhitektonski ili oboje od prethodne. Odabirani su mikroprocesori koji su inovativni za svoje vrijeme, bilo u načinu izrade, dizajnu i slično. Rad obuhvaća mikroprocesore koji su se koristili ili se još koriste za servere i stolna računala. Zadnji dio rada govori o brzini razvoja mikroprocesora i pobliže opisuje dio procesa izrade mikroprocesora. U istom poglavlju se opisuju i neke od tehnologija budućnosti koje bi mogle pridonijeti daljnjem razvitku mikroprocesora.
Abstract (english)	Paper presents the development of the microprocessor through history. In chronological order, it refers to microprocessors that have excelled in a particular decade or generation that they belong to. Generations include microprocessors whose performance reaches a certain framework. Each generation is technologically more advanced, constructionally, architecturally or both than the previous. The selected microprocessors are the ones that brought innovation for its time, whether in the design or the way that they were produced. This work includes microprocessors that were used or are used for servers and desktop computers. The last part of the paper discusses the development speed of microprocessors and describes one part of the process of making microprocessors. In the same chapter, it describes some of the future technologies that could contribute to the further development of microprocessors.
