Music is an integral part of life for individual, and has a physical, emotional and cognitive impact on listener. It is believed that every child has a certain musical abilities and their development is influenced by different impacts. Musical therapy has been developed by the influence of music on people with difficulties in social integration. When music therapy is used with children, it is a great motivator it creates duet the more interesting and joyfull environment in which the child is not aware of the therapeutic cause. It can be observed from a scientific and a therapeutic point of view. Through musical therapy is trying to achieve positive changes in mental and physical condition of the individual. The principles of music therapy are based on group and individual music therapy. The group therapy should include children without disabilities in order to facilitate and speed up the socialization as well as children without disabilities would easier accept children with disabilities. As part of musical therapy are active methods which are related to the active participation of the individuals in musical activities. On the other hand, passive methods are applied to individual meetings with music by listening. In active methods belong improvisational musical therapy models which are divided into structured methods, most notably Orff method of musical therapy and unstructured methods, among which is Creative method of musical therapy. Children with Down syndrome often have difficulty in auditory, visual and spatial processing, and delay in motorical development, but also the difficulties in language-speaking-world development. Some researchs have shown the positive impact of music and music-dance games on children with Down syndrome and on improving their skills.
