Abstract
Svjedoci smo razvoja računalne tehnologije u mjeri u kojoj to nitko nije slutio. Video igre nisu iznimka, a tome je pridonio upravo takav streloviti razvoj tehnologije koji je omogućio da današnje video igre s grafičkog aspekta izgledaju gotovo kao realnost. No, napredak u tehnologiji nije se odrazio samo na povećanje kapaciteta memorije, brže procesore i brže grafičke kartice, nego i na veličinu ekrana odnosno rezoluciju koju je moguće prikazati. Veća rezolucija rezultira većom količinom detalja što uvelike troši hardverske resurse. U ovom radu će biti opisani procesi izrade 3D modela i tekstura kao sastavnog dijela video igara, na način u kojem će se pokušati naći balans između kvalitete samog sadržaja i brzine izvođenja, odnosno fluidnosti video igre.
Abstract (english)
We are witnessing the development of computer technology to the extent that no one foresaw. Video games are no exception to this, since the aforesaid development of technology gave the possibility of lifelike visual aspect that video games today have the ability of showing. However, advances in technology not only affect increase in the amount of memory, faster processors and faster graphics card, but the screen size and resolution that can be displayed. Higher resolution results in more details and greatly consumes hardware resources. This paper will describe both the process of making 3D models and textures as an integral part of video games, the way in which they will try to find a balance between the quality of the content and the speed and fluidity of the video game.
