Abstract
Napretkom molekularne biologije, znanstvenici uviđaju važnu ulogu deoksiribonukleinske kiseline (DNA) i drugih genetičkih markera u istraživanju evolucije čovjeka.

Parallel abstract (English)
With the advance of molecular biology, deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and other genetic markers are getting more and more important to scientists contributing to research of human evolution. Mitochondrial DNA and Y chromosome research enables development of phylogenetic trees using the hypothesis of molecular clock, it is answering questions about the origin of human race and it is being used in determining similarity between humans and other organisms.
