Abstract
Financijsko tržište u svojoj temeljnoj svrsi predstavlja mjesta, robe, osobe, instrumente, tehnike i tokove koji omogućavaju razmjenu novčanih viškova i manjkova, odnosno novca, kapitala i deviza. Mobilizirajući novčane viškove, odnosno štednju, financijsko tržište omogućuje formiranje i koncentraciju produktivnog kapitala i potiče rast i napredak nacionalnog gospodarstva. Suvremene financije simboliziraju izrazito razvijena financijska tržišta među kojima posebno mjesto pripada tržištu kapitala, financijskim institucijama koje posreduju na tome tržištu i financijskim instrumentima kojima se trguje na tome tržištu. Financijska tržišta označavaju ogroman teritorij ispunjen raznim investicijskim mogućnostima i prilikama. Sudjelujući na financijskim tržištima poduzeća imaju priliku povećati svoju likvidnost, lakše i učinkovitije rasporediti svoja ulaganja putem raznih financijskih instrumenata te sami odlučiti koliko, kada i gdje će uložiti svoj novac.

Parallel abstract (English)
Markets are defined as institutions which are organized to be used for resources allocation, depending on the existing demand, or as the channels through which buyers and sellers meet to exchange their goods and services. Financial market basically represents places, goods, people, tools, techniques and streams that allow the exchange of cash surpluses and deficits, i.e.money, capital and foreign currency. Through financial markets, households and economies are directing funds to those people and institutions who can't provide sufficient funds from their real income, so they have to search for them in financial market. Therefore, the primary mission of financial markets is to mobilize all funds that can be used as loan and transfer them from savers to those who need them for consumption or investment. By mobilizing financial surpluses or savings, financial market allows the formation and concentration of productive capital and stimulates the growth and progress of the national economy. Modern finance are representing the highly developed financial markets where special place belongs to the capital market, financial institutions that are intermediaries in this market and to financial instruments that are being traded in this market. Financial markets indicate a huge area full of various investment possibilities and opportunities. By participating in financial markets companies have the opportunity to increase their own liquidity, easier and more effectively allocate their investments through a variety off inancial instruments and to decide for themselves how, when and where to invest their money.
