Abstract	Metode izgradnje filogenetskog stabla temeljene na obilježjima taksona određuju međusobne odnose taksona, odnosno vrsta, promatrajući njihove morfološke ili molekularne razlike. Te metode daju preciznije rezultate od metoda temeljenih na udaljenostima taksona. Metoda najmanjeg broja evolucijskih promjena se vodi načelom Occamove oštrice, odnosno stablo koje zahtijeva najmanje promjena je najvjerojatnije da će se dogoditi. Druga metoda je metoda najveće izglednosti koja se temelji na probabilističkom modelu evolucije. Dodajući jedan po jedan takson u stablo se određuje koja topologija stabla je najizglednija. Nakon implementacije algoritama provedeno je testiranje na genomu virusa HIV-1 te su dobiveni rezultati uspoređeni s rezultatima već postojećih alata.
Abstract (english)	Characters based methods determine relations between taxons by evaluating their morphological or molecular differences. These methods give far better results than distance based methods. Maximum parsimony method follows the principle of Occam's razor, the tree that requires the least amount of changes is the most probable tree. The other method, maximum likelihood, is based on a probabilistic model of evolution. By adding taxons to the tree one by one, after each addition the most likely tree topology is recalculated. After the implementation of proposed algorithms, the tests were conducted using the genome of virus HIV-1, and the results were compared with ones gotten from existing phylogenetic tools.
