Abstract Dojenje je jedini prirodni i najzdraviji način prehrane dojenčeta. Dva hormona prolaktin i oksitocin postaju važni u proizvodnji i otpuštanju mlijeka.
Abstract (english) Breastfeeding is the only natural and healthiest way to feed a baby. Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics Split 2010th year after fulfilling the criteria gets the title of "Maternity-Child Friendly". Breast milk is adapted to its autoproduction child. Changes to ensure a diet that suits the child's needs, from colostrum to mature milk. Two hormones prolactin and oxytocin become more important in the production and release of milk. For a successful start breastfeeding, it is important to establish early closeness between mother and child through contact "skin to skin" immediately after birth and breastfeed in the first hour of life. The most important thing is proper acceptance of breast and proper placement of the child in the chest. The correct position is the basis of successful breastfeeding and should devote a lot of attention, especially in the early weeks of breastfeeding. If a child is badly placed on the breast and ineffective sucking, midwives should be taught the mother of the correct position of mother and child. If a child is not properly fitted to the breast comes to a series of complications that threaten breast-feeding. Mother and child are together 24 hours a day (rooming in) and a mother breastfeeds her baby at the request of the child. Breast milk is unique, featuring an array of benefits for both the child and the mother, and the community. Breast milk is the ideal and that every mother should breastfeed for at least six months. Maternity Hospital is a vital place in the promotion of breastfeeding.
The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of breastfeeding, the extent of information can have an impact on supporting breastfeeding as compared to all the other factors that contribute to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Split.
For the purposes of this research survey was conducted on 30 subjects, puerpera in Split University Hospital, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
The research results are presented in diagrams. The study included 30 puerpera surveyed, divided into groups, 10 primipara and 20 multiparous.
The discussion is based on the results that are the opposite of the expected. Puerpera still usually informed through the Internet, a small percentage of successful first feeding, were encouraged by the medical staff, but not enough, fatigue is not considered nepogodujućim factor until the pain they are, and a very small number is familiar with the breastfeeding support group.
Health workers in the Split University Hospital are not educated, and after four years of conducting initiatives "Maternity-Child Friendly". The survey concluded that puerpera still not satisfied with the work of health professionals. Health workers should be at the forefront of education, assistance and support during breastfeeding.
