Abstract	Privatna tužba u kaznenom postupku predstavlja iznimku od načela oficijelnosti prema kojem kazneni progon vrši državni odvjetnik po službenoj dužnosti te stoga spada u posebne postupke. U hrvatskom kaznenom postupku privatnu tužbu ovlašten je podnijeti, u pravilu, oštećenik, a iznimno i neke druge osobe primjerice bliski srodnici oštećenika. Kaznena djela koja se progone po privatnoj tužbi određena su Kaznenim zakonom. Rad se bavi pravnim uređenjem postupka po privatnoj tužbi u kaznenom procesnom pravu Republike Hrvatske. Izlaganje započinje povijesnim pregledom ovlaštenih tužitelja u različitim vrstama kaznenih postupaka. Nastavno analizira institut privatne tužbe u okviru pozitivnog prava te pravni položaj privatnog tužitelja u kaznenom postupku. Ističu se specifičnosti postupka po privatnoj tužbi, a posebno poglavlje posvećeno je mirenju kao alternativnom načinu rješavanja sporova u kaznenom postupku po privatnoj tužbi.
Abstract (english)	Private charge in criminal procedure are an exception to the principle of formality, according to which criminal prosecution is carried out by the State Attorney ex officio and therefore belongs to special proceedings. In Croatian criminal process, as a rule, the injured party is authorized to file a private charge, and exceptionally some other persons, such as close relatives of the injured party. Criminal offenses prosecuted on a private charge are determined by the Criminal Code. The author deals with the legal regulation of private charge proceedings in the legal order of the Republic of Croatia. The analysis begins with a historical overview of authorized prosecutors in different types of historical criminal proceedings. Furthermore, the author analyzes the institute of the private charge within the framework of positive law and legal position of private prosecutor in criminal proceedings. The author emphasizes the specifics of the procedure and especially the possibility of conciliation.
