Abstract	Cilj ovog završnog rada bio je objasniti što je to strah, kada se pojavljuje te koji faktori utječu na njegovo manifestiranje. Strah je prisutan kod gotovo svakog djeteta u određenom razvojnom razdoblju. Kao emocija pojavljuje se već u sedmom mjesecu djetetova života, a jedni od najčešćih strahova u toj dobi su strahovi od odvajanja i nepoznatih osoba. U predškolskoj dobi pojavljuju se brojni razvojni strahovi poput strah od mraka, strah od odvajanja, strah od životinja, socijalizacijski strahovi i brojni drugi. Neka djeca su osjetljivija i plašljivija od druge. Jerome Kagan (prema Shapiro, 2002) ističe da je preosjetljiva amigdala, emocionalni kontrolni centar mozga, glavni izazivač plašljivosti. Postoje brojni čimbenici zbog kojih su neka djeca plašljivija od druge. Nedovoljno povjerenje djeteta prema okolini može utjecati na pojavu dječjeg straha u kasnijoj dobi. Također i nedovoljna majčina briga ili angažiranost oko djeteta i razne traume mogu dovesti do zakočenosti djeteta prema okolini. Roditelji imaju veliku ulogu u prevenciji dječjih strahova. Previše zaštitnički roditelji onemogućuju djecu da se sami umire i prerastu razvojne strahove samostalno. Pedijatar Wiliam Sammons (prema Shapiro, 2002) piše u svojoj knjizi the Self-Calmed Baby (Dijete koje se zna smiriti) o dječjoj sposobnosti samosmirivanja. Postoje brojni načini prevencije strahova kod djece predškolske dobi. U zadnjem dijelu završnoga rada navedeni su i objašnjeni neki od načina prevencije; jasan razgovor sa djetetom o strahu, suočavanje djeteta sa zastrašujućim događajem, pripremanje djeteta na određene situacije, izbjegavanje zastrašujućih priča i filmova te pomoć računala.
Abstract (english)	The aim of this final work was to explain what the fear is, when it occurs and what are the factors that influence its manifestation. The fear is present in nearly all children in a particular developmental period. As emotions appears already in the seventh month of the child's life, and one of the most common fears that age are fears of separation and strangers. In kindergarten age appear numerous developmental fears like fear of the dark, fear of separation, fear of animals, socialization fears and many others. Some children are more sensitive and timid than others. Jerome Kagan (by Shapiro, 2002) points out that the amygdala is hypersensitive, emotional control center of the brain, the main challenger timidity. Lack of confidence of the child in the environment can affect the appearance of children's fear at a later age. Also, the lack of maternal care or engagement around the child and various traumas can lead stiffness of the child to the environment. Parents have a major role in the prevention of children's fears. Overprotective parents prevent children to face with their own fears. Pediatrician William Sammons (by Shapiro, 2002) wrote in his book The Self-Calmed Baby (Child is known to calm) on children's ability ofself- calming. There are numerous ways of preventing anxiety in children of preschool age. In the last part of the final work are listed and explained some of the ways of prevention: A clear conversation with your child about the fear of a child coping with a frightening event, preparing the child to particular situations, avoiding the scary stories and movies, computer-aided.
