Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
Pošip, Maraština, Vugava and Debit are the most important native white grapevines in Dalmatia. Clonal selection of these varieties began in 2006. with the goal of separation divergent clones with observed and confirmed positive change in some of economically important characteristics. During the clonal selection we are trying to determine if they have different basic characteristics. In some of white varieties that are extremely important, we are trying to determine differences in the content of the most important aromatic compounds of grapes, because of their significant impact on the primary flavor in wine. The research included clone candidates of listed varieties in the experimental vineyard „Baštica“ (Zadar). The sampling of the grape was conducted at the stage of full maturity in 2015. Chemical analysis of the Maraština, Pošip, Vugava and Debit clone candidates proved that these varieties are mutually significally different in content of sugar in grape must, overall acidity and pH value. Furthermore, analysis of terpene compounds showed that particular clone candidates have increased level of 1-hexanol, 2-hexen-1-ol and α-terpineol, which can be seen in clone candidates MAR-022, POŠ-075 and VV-265, and some of the clone candidates of Vugava had higher concentration of terpene compounds geraniol and linalool, like VUG-041. In all varieties, overall monoterpenes are dominant over norisoprenoids.
