Abstract
Poplavni komarci su komarci koji jaja polažu na vlažno tlo na kojem u određenom vremenskom razdoblju postoji mogućnost plavljenja područja. Najčešći primjeri poplavnih komaraca su Aedes vexans Meigen i Ochlerotatus sticticus Meigen. U posljednje vrijeme javlja se sve veći broj vrsta poplavnih komaraca zbog sve češćih poplava na globalnoj razini. Poplavni komarci vektori su različitih bolesti poput miksomatoze, dirofilarioze i groznice Zapadnog Nila. Shodno povećanju brojnosti poplavnih komaraca, također se povećava i razvoj navedenih bolesti. Kako bi se spriječilo njihovo širenje koriste se larvicidni tretmani na bazi Bti-a (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) i Bs-a (Bacillus sphaericus). Radi toga je nužan monitoring, odnosno praćenje broja i vrsta komaraca, kao i daljnja istraživanja samih poplavnih komaraca i tretmana koji utječu na nemogućnost njihovog prekomjernog razmnožavanja.

Floodwater mosquitoes are mosquitoes, which lay their eggs on damp soil in which in a certain period of time there is a possibility of flooding area. The most common examples of floodwater mosquitoes are Aedes vexans Meigen and Ochlerotatus sticticus Meigen.Lately, there is an increasing number of types of floodwater mosquitoes because of morefrequent flooding on global scale. Flood mosquitoes are vectors of various diseases such as myxomatosis, dirofilariasis and West Nile fever. In line of increase in abundance of floodwater mosquitoes, development of specified diseases is increased as well. To prevent their spread, larvicidal reatments based on Bti (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) and Bs(Bacillus sphaericus) are used. Therefore, the monitoring or tracking the number and species of mosquitoes, as well as further research of floodwater mosquitoes and treatments that affect the impossibility of excessive breeding is necessary.
