Abstract	Ovaj rad obrađuje analizu uloge rashladne tekućine u energetskoj bilanci motora s unutrašnjim izgaranjem s ciljem proučavanja njenog doprinosa maksimalnoj učinkovitosti, ekološkoj održivosti i dugotrajnosti motora. U radu je dan povijesni pregled razvoja tehnologija rashladnih tekućina i promatrani su potencijalni trendovi razvoja tehnologije rashladnih tekućina usmjereni na smanjenje negativnih ekoloških utjecaja rashladnih tekućina prema okolišu. Objašnjena su i svojstva rashladne tekućine, kao i svojstva antifriza kao ključnog sastavka rashladne tekućine. Nadalje, izučavan je rashladni sustav automobila i moderni inženjerski pristupi kojima se pokušava povećati učinkovitost hlađenja motora rashladnom tekućinom. Povrh toga, laboratorijskim eksperimentiranjem analizirana su osnovna svojstva rashladne tekućine. Naposljetku, na praktičnom primjeru opisana je zamjena rashladne tekućine u rashladnom sustavu automobila.
Abstract (english)	This paper examines the analysis of the role of coolant in the energy balance of internal combustion engines with the aim of studying its contribution to maximum efficiency, environmental sustainability, and engine longevity. The paper provides a historical overview of the development of coolant technologies and examines future trends in coolant technology development aimed at reducing the adverse environmental impacts of coolants. It also explains the properties of coolant and the properties of antifreeze as a key component of coolant. Furthermore, it investigates the vehicle cooling system and modern engineering approaches aimed at enhancing engine cooling efficiency through coolant. In addition, basic properties of the coolant were analyzed through laboratory experiments. Finally, a practical example is given to describe the replacement of coolant in an automobile's cooling system.
