Abstract	Apsentizam adolescenata već je dugo složena i problematična pojava za pedagoge, nastavnike, psihologe i istraživače iz drugih disciplina. Ovaj se rad bavi utjecajem apsentizma na školski uspjeh adolescenata. Rad daje uvid u adolescenciju kao životno razdoblje te u teoriju poremećaja u ponašanju s naglaskom na apsentizam kao socijalno-pedagoški problem. Problematiziraju se uzroci i posljedice apsentizma. Osim teorijske obrade ovih problema rad donosi metodologiju provedenoga empirijskoga istraživanja provedenoga među učenicima đakovačkih srednjih škola, rezultate i preporuke za daljnja znanstvena istraživanja. Rezultati pokazuju da je viša stopa apsentizma povezana s lošijim školskim uspjehom, ali i da učenici toga nisu svjesni.
Abstract (english)	Adolescents truancy has long been a complex and problematic phenomenon for educators, teachers, psychologists and researchers from other disciplines. This paper is concerned with the impact of truancy on school achievement of adolescents. The paper looks at adolescence as a life stage, and the theory of behavioral disorders with a focus on absenteeism as a socio-pedagogical problem. This paper discusses the causes and consequences of absenteeism. In addition to the theoretical treatment of these problems, this paper brings the methodology of the empirical research conducted among high school students in Djakovo, results, and recommendations for further scientific research. Results show that a higher rate of absenteeism is associated with poor school achievement, and that students are not aware of the effect.
