Abstract	Bitan dio svake organizacije su ljudski potencijali koji se očituju preko znanja, sposobnosti, vještina i kompetencija, a čine ključan faktor uspješnog poslovanja i djelovanja svake organizacije. Temeljne aktivnosti upravljanja ljudskim potencijalima su slijedom navedene: analiza radnog mjesta, planiranje, regrutiranje ili pribavljanje, selekcija ili odabir, obuka i razvoj, motivacija, procjena performansi, upravljanje kompenzacijama i zaštita zaposlenih. Upravljanje ljudskim potencijalima od strane menadžmenta je specifično područje jer ukazuje na važnost adekvatnog i kvalitetnog vođenja politike pribavljanja kadrova te trajnog ulaganja u njihov razvoj, a sve s ciljem njihove kvalifikacije i obuke za uspješno obavljanje poslovnih zadataka. Selekcija kadrova se vrši na osnovu razrađenih specifičnih metoda i tehnika koje omogućavaju pribavljanje kompetentnih i sposobnih kadrova koji će na adekvatan način odgovoriti poslovnim zahtjevima i na takvim temeljima sasvim sigurno ostvariti uspješnost i konkurentsku prednost organizacije.
Abstract (english)	Human resources, revealed through knowledge, ability, skill and competence, are a vit al factor and a key to doing bu siness successfully. Fundamental activities of human resource management are as follows: workplace analysis, planning, recruiting, selection process, training and development, motivation, performance evaluation, compensation management and employee protection. Human resource management is therefore, a specific area because it shows the value of adequate and quality staff recruitment policy as well as permanent investment in development of such a policy tosuccessfully qualify and train future employees in completing var ious workplace tasks. Staff selection is done based on developed specific methods and techniques which result in a recruitment of competent and efficient staff that can promptly respond to various workplace demands thus increasing success rate and comparative advantages o fan organization.
