Abstract
Različite dijete predstavljanju različite modele prehrane, tako je u ovom radu cilj prikazati važnost redukcije unosa soli kao prihvatljivog modela koji bi trebao biti prvi korak u prevenciji hipertenzije. Prevelik unos soli sa sobom nosi i posljedice kao što su hipertenzija i kardiovaskularne bolesti, koje su postale globalni javnozdravstveni problem te vodeći uzrok smrtnosti u svijetu i Republici Hrvatskoj. U cilju prevencije hipertenzije razvijen je i poseban plan prehrane, DASH, koji se temelji na prehrani bogatoj voćem i povrćem, a naglasak stavlja na redukciju unosa soli i zasićenih masti. Provedena je svjetska studija u 7 zemalja , također i u Republici Hrvatskoj. Studije su pokušale dobiti informacije o unosu soli, svijesti i stavovi-ma ljudi kad je riječ o unosu soli i posljedicama koje nosi. Pokazalo se da je unos soli mnogo veći od preporuka , a razumijevanje i svijest o važnosti redukcije vrlo niska. Bitnu ulogu u edukaciji i informiranju stanovništva, uz liječnike , moraju svakako imati nutricionisti.
Abstract (english)
Different diets present different models of nourishment, so in this paper was the aim to show the importance of reducing salt intake as ans acceptable model that should be the first step in the prevention of hypertension. Excessive salt intake carries with it consequences such as hypertension and cardiovascular diseases, which have become a global public health problem and a leading cause of death in the world, and in Croatia. In order to prevent hypertension was developed a special diet plan, DASH, which is based on a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, the emphasis is on reducing intake of salt and saturated fat. A worldwide study was conducted in seven countries, also in Croatia. Studies have attempted to obtain information on salt intake, awareness and attitudes of people when it comes to salt intake and the consequences that it carries. It was shown that salt intake is much higher than recommendations, understanding and awareness of the importance of reduction is very low. An important role in education and informing the population, along with doctors, nutritionists must certainly have.
