Consisting of several parts, this paper describes the procedure of registration in the land registry books, as well as the types of land registry entries. Focus of the paper is on the registration in the land registry. Nonetheless, it was needed to explain in more depth the concept of land registry books and their composition, what has been done in the introductory part. Following, principles on which the entire system of land registry law is based are of great importance, and are therefore explained in short. With the explanation of registration in detail, legal remedy cannot be omitted, as it presents important part of practically every court proceeding, including this. Consequently, one of the basic objectives of this paper is to, throughout the land registry law, land registry books and applicable regulations concerning the latter, determine the subject matter of the land registry entry, analyze the land registry procedure more precisely, analyze what this procedure presents and steps necessary to have valid entry in the land registry, together with legal remedy at disposal to the parties in such proceeding. All mentioned, with minor additionalities, is necessary to examine and put together, so that the notion and the definition of land registry books is more understandable. Through several parts, this has been done in further text of this paper. To finish, examples of court practice in the Republic of Croatia are given, to demonstrate specifics of the whole land registry procedure in practice.
