Abstract	Prisutnost glazbe u svakodnevnom okruženju djeteta razvija različite djetetove sposobnosti i kompetencije odnosno pridonosi dječjem cjelovitom razvoju. Glazba je prisutna u svakodnevnom životu djeteta, zato je važno postupno, primjereno i kvalitetno uvesti glazbu u svakodnevni rad s djecom. U radu su navedena područja djetetova razvoja koja glazba potiče i razvija te na koji način. Glazbene aktivnosti poput pjevanja, glazbenih igara, pokreta uz pjevanje i uz glazbene igre, brojalica te slušanja glazbe glavna su sredstva glazbenog odgoja jer se njima, osim na glazbeni, može utjecati i na opći, estetski, moralni, tjelesni i intelektualni razvoj djeteta. Umjetničko izražavanje i stvaranje u kontekstu različitih pedagoških koncepcija odgoja i obrazovanja smatra se bitnom sastavnicom utjecaja na cjeloviti razvoj djeteta predškolske dobi. Ništa od navedenog ne bi bilo moguće bez odrasle osobe, odnosno, odgajatelja kojemu je uloga stvoriti poticajno prostorno – materijalno okruženje i zainteresirati djecu za glazbu, njene elemente i glazben aktivnosti.
Abstract (english)	The presence of music in the everyday environment of the child develops different child's abilities and competences, or contributes to the child's integral development. Music is present int he everyday life of a child, so it is important to gradually, appropriately and qualityly import music into everyday work with children. The paper focuses on the areas of child development that music promotes and develops in and in what way. Musical activities such as singing, playing games, singing and playing music, songwriting and listening to music are the main means of music education, as besides music, they can also influence the general, aesthetic, moral, physical and intellectual development of the child. Artistic expression and creation in the context of various pedagogical concepts of education and training is considered to be an essential component of the impact on the overall development of the child of preschool age. None of the above would have ben possible without the adult person, that is, the educator whose role is to create a stumulating psysical and material environment and to interest the children for music, its elements and musical acitivities.
