Assisted reproductive technology (ART) includes biomedical procedures that treat 70 - 80 % of infertility causes in one or both partners and is applied when all other forms of treatment are unsuccessful. The simplest method in treatment with assisted reporoductive technology (ART) is insemination, which can be performed with homologous or heterologous seeds. Intrauterine inemination (IUI) with homologous seeds is generally accepted and desirable as a first choice treatment. It is a method based on monofoliculogenesis that is recommended in a natural cycle where the cause of infertility in parters is a cervical factor or a male infertility. The success of insemination depends mostly on the age of both partners, the correct indication and the quality of the prepared seed. It is different from other procedures because of the simplicity of carrying out the procedure itself, which is painless and of short duration. For that reason it positively affects a couple, both mentally and physically, and least lowers the quality of their life. An important role in the treatment process is a midwife who is part of the medical team, and takes care of both partners, giving them emotional support, recognizing their needs and expectations and providing them with support at all times. The birth of a healthy and living child is the result of the success of the entire procedure.
