This paper deals with the subject of plastic marine pollution it is a global problem nowdays. There is a growing need for a proactiv sollutions on a global scale. The one-time plastic we sometimes use only a few seconds maybe longer, remains like a reflection of human unconsciousness hundreds of years later. More and more the consequences of the consumerism of plastic products are manifested in the marine environment in the form of microplates, bags, fishing nets and other discarded objects that then become a poisonous bait for animals. Accumulating areas of plastic waste form the so-called "Garbage islands", in this area the waste remains captivated by whirlwinds of sea currents. The endangerment of marine ecosystems is also reflected in the health of humans in the form of disorders and illnesses. The aim of the paper is to get acquainted with the pollution of the sea with plastic and its purpose to find possible solutions. Education at all levels of faculites and a more intensive public awareness of the harmfulness of plastics would lead to proactive action and the spread of ecological awareness.
